About this Project

Another chimney restoration completed by the team at Integrity Chimney!

This project in Newberg, Oregon, focused on restoring the chimney's masonry and improving its protection against the Pacific Northwest's wet weather.

Our team completed several essential chimney maintenance and repair services to help extend the life of the chimney and prevent future moisture-related damage.

Project Highlights

💧 Pressure Washing & Sealing (PWS)
We cleaned the chimney masonry to remove accumulated dirt and buildup, then applied a protective masonry water repellent to help reduce moisture absorption while allowing the brickwork to breathe.

🏠 New Chimney Flashing
We installed new flashing around the chimney's base to help prevent water from entering where the chimney meets the roof.

🧱 Chimney Tuckpointing
Deteriorating mortar joints can allow moisture to penetrate the chimney structure. Our team repaired damaged mortar joints to restore the masonry's integrity and help prevent further deterioration.

🔨 Chimney Crown Coat
We applied a protective crown coating to help seal minor cracks and protect the chimney crown against water penetration and weather-related damage.

🌧️ New Chimney Cap
We installed a new chimney cap to help keep rain, debris, and animals out of the flue while allowing proper ventilation.

Why Chimney Maintenance Matters in Oregon

Oregon's frequent rainfall and seasonal temperature changes can be particularly hard on masonry chimneys. Without proper maintenance, moisture can work its way into bricks, mortar joints, and chimney crowns, eventually leading to expensive repairs.

By addressing these vulnerable areas, homeowners can help protect their chimneys and avoid more extensive damage down the road.
